“When one teaches, two learn.” - Robert Heinlein

My teaching pedagogy is anchored in hands-on teaching and engaging students in classroom. I always try to engage students in discussion, may it be forming round tables or explicitly asking questions. I would have a lot of in-class exercises done in groups to encourage participation and team work. I encourage assignments that are not merely dependent on theoretical lessons; rather I believe it is beneficial to study real companies and apply the topics students learn. This would not only teach the students critical thinking much needed in today’s competitive world but also ignites interest in them to explore the topics in more depth on their own.

I use case studies to teach; those that require reflection, questioning the basic concepts, and applying theories. I have even published two teaching cases with Luiss University Press. One of them focuses on OB-HRM and the other on Sustainability. I also believe that, while some students might not find every topic interesting, and they might get bored in the class, I often discuss with them their interests and how whatever topic is being taught in the class might apply to them. I often explain students how one concept learned in a different topic might come in handy in decision making in their interested area.

In all the four courses I was a Teaching Assistant at Luiss over more than two years, I was responsible for developing the lectures building on my work and research experience. I combined the concepts being discussed in the course with the phenomena I have noticed in real organisations and this led to interesting lectures that gave the students a sense of how the theory translates into practice.

International Business postgraduate course: This was a course where I handled 50% of modules, including institutional theory and resource based view, inter-cultural management, business ethics and sustainability, (social) entrepreneurship, international expansion, market entry modes, etc. In handling these modules, I have relied not only my experiences working in an international organisation but also various examples and case studies, even from the empirical contexts of my future research, to explain the concepts such as employee relations and contracts, CSR and ethical business practices, social innovation and sustainable ecosystems. The fact that Professor Ojobor, responsible for the course, let me handle half of it reflects my commitment and skills.

Organizing Innovation postgraduate course: This was an innovation centric course where I had less teaching. It focused on organising for innovation, teams and groups, organisational structures for R&D, patents and intellectual rights, etc.

International Operations and Supply Chain postgraduate course: I had discussed corporate strategy, business ethics and supply chain practices in diamond industry using my previous work experience at Craft Diamonds which helped the students learn not only those theoretical concepts but also how they materialised in practice in diamond industry Craft Diamonds was in. I also gave lectures on sustainable value chain development, including the OECD guidelines, and on how to write project work and thesis on the same.

Fundamentals of Management graduate course: The focus was on general management principles and introduction to how organisations are managed. From Porter’s forces to industry analysis, and from institutional theory to resource based view, I have given lectures on 20-30% of the modules in the course. I conducted case studies and led group discussions on topics related to general management, innovation, strategy and globalisation.

I also believe in an open-door policy where students can easily discuss their concerns with me. I always encourage students, even as a Teaching Assistant, to write/come to me whenever they have any concern related to the course. I have also helped students with their term papers and final thesis by acting as a sounding board for their ideas. I also have experience of supervising Bachelors and Masters theses.
Hi. I'm Sriteja and welcome to my website. I'm a spoken word poet, a writer, an academic researcher, and, generally, a storyteller. Know more about me by exploring this website.

Unspoken Words

Picture
My first ever poetry collection Unspoken Words, with some old and some new ones, is out now as both hardcopy and an ebook. It contains some of the poems I've already published on Literally Literary and Poets Unlimited on Medium but it also has many new pieces that appear in the book for the first time.

I've always enjoyed poetry by the likes of Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost. But when I came across the spoken-word poet Sarah Kay, I knew I wanted to create poetic art too. A lot of poems in Unspoken Words are spoken-word poetry.

An important part of spoken word poetry is the actual performances of the pieces. Now the book is out for you to enjoy, I'm also making videos of performances of some of the pieces and posting online. These include my performances at open mics and poetry events too. Check out more videos on my Instagram or TikTok or YouTube channel, pick your poison.

Just as a li'l treat, please find some videos below.

The Silent Sound

Picture
I'm also a writer, dabbling in fiction and script-writing. My first novel The Silent Sound has been out in the market for a while now and I'm working on several other projects including Finding Nour, a script, and An anthology of feminist stories.

I also read a lot. Some of my most favorite works include Last Girl by the Noble Peace Price Winner Nadia Murad, Circe by Madeline Miller, The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley, and Other Minds: The Octopus and the Evolution of Intelligent Life by Peter Godfrey-Smith This is perhaps why I'm so fascinated with telling stories myself.

The Silent Sound is a crime thriller at its heart. But it subtly explores the human emotional motivations for our actions. I've created characters that readers can identify with and a twist in the story that I'm sure makes it a page-turner.
